NTT has just delivered a set of equipment to one of its industrial customers for its quality control laboratory: viscosity measurement of paints and coatings, cup verification with a certified reference standard, and metrology accessories.
What was delivered
- Elcometer 2400 viscosity cup stand, with flow cup and glass plate: it holds the cup perfectly level to measure the efflux time of paints, varnishes and inks.
- CANNON C100 certified viscosity reference standard: it gives the reference efflux times for Zahn, Ford and Shell cups, according to ASTM D4212 and D1200.
- ZEISS accessory for coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
- NITRAS protective gloves compliant with EN 388, for clean handling of parts and reference standards.
Why check your cups with a reference oil?
Over time and with cleaning, a cup’s orifice wears and its efflux time drifts. Regularly measuring a certified reference oil confirms that the cup still gives the right result, and provides the evidence needed for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 audits.
